Introduction
May Lane is a small but busy laneway only a few steps from Casa Carrie. The lane is used by commuters racing between the railway station and this end of the neighbourhood and the staff and clientele of the many brothels which have 'discrete entrances' from the laneway.
An old factory has been leased by artist types with a strong committment to public art, reclaiming public space and many questions close to my dark little anarchist heart. The factory-gallery is always alive with activity including that rarest of birds, intellectual activity. It may yet prove that we have a pocket of artistic rebellion growing
